On a Wander

The Color of the oak trees was intense
As I wandered…
To mine own thoughts of descent

The family tree
Tracing clan ancestry

As sophisticated as ‘tis humble
In the distant hills I hear a rumble

Of deep, rolling thunder before the storm
On this crisp, harvest ‘morn

The ice thus formed

Winter’s first frost
Autumn now lost

In recognition
With precognition

Enjoying the breeze
With gratitude; pleased

Offering to the Goddess and God my praise
In the solar rebirth of rainbow rays

As well to acknowledge
In the wilting foliage

Scents of mother earth in waves
I am positively alive today
