Villanelle of an Old Heart

They sang in song of lore
Of old man who hiked here
Back in the day of yore

They said dawn came to pour
All rain around austere
They sang in song of lore

Yet the old man ignore
The rain with an iron cheer
Back in the day of yore

Once there upon the shore
He wait for dawn to clear
They sang in song of lore

They said his heart was more
Loving a lass quite dear
Back in the day of yore

Yet he see heaven's shore
And his lass coming near,
They sang in song of lore
Back in the day of yore
