In seclusion with my school books,
I sit and study alone.
Dare not do I beg to leave, or break.
Sitting lonesome on my learning stump
How I miss the summer days how I long for soothing sun.
My friends, they talk around me, making plans, having fun.
And how I long to say “I’m in!” I’d love to leave!
Though day by day I’m forced sit at home.
Obeying the laws of the older ones.
Unspoken ruler father who governs.
My laws are learn and clean.
Madness lurks around my corner,
For every hour I stay here.
My lovely boy, my laugh, my joy,
With whom I wish I’d spend my time
Replaced by the spoiled beggar,
Who sits like stone beside me while I eat.
Who knows when food is opened,
and begs for one last treat.
I long to step out of my tomb!
For once! Let me rejoice!
These golden days my high school years
Should never be experienced through a window!
