Trust? She has no choice. Her life hangs in the hands of bustling white shoes
and blue pants. In the creases of un-ironed yet crisp white shirts and cheery
smiles. Wide grins produced in bulk and often synthetic, as the bearer is not
feeling particularly happy but is required, by law, by rules and regulations, to
ensure the patient assumes she is most delighted to be attending her.
Trust? It was never a question. Through drips and drains she is fed liquids, drugs,
while clots and orange jelly-substances feed outwards from her body litre by litre.
Oral manufactured drinks containing prescribed amounts of chemicals. Patches of
morphine stick tightly to her flesh. She has no say - in the pain nor, in the giving.
She simply sits back, and takes.
And trusts.
They say 'trust' must be earned, not given. Sometimes, life just doesn't give you that choice.

Author notes
PROMT; trust
BACKGROUND; My sister [30] is in hospital currently. She was diagnosed with lung cancer 2 months ago and it seems to be going downhill constantly. She trusts the nurses, the doctors, the medical team & us, her family - without question, without fail, without pause. If she didn't... I don't know how long she would have left :/

Very interesting way of thinking and a take on the prompt I wasn't quite expecting. You have a good point here. Thank you for sharing

i like to try and take prompts further away from the over-used viewpoints like cliches. i don't always succeed but every now and again, something works
thank YOU for inspiring!
