Sing out, sweet poet!
Give meaning to the words
trapped deep in your soul
Make the night your stage,
the moon your spotlight
Yes, sing out, sweet poet!
Tell us the tales of old
Bring forth the hero's,
the Gods, the strangers to the sun
Make our hearts pound with anticpation
and our blood coldly run
Sing out, sweet poet!
Bare for us your inner most soul
Breath life unto the stars
and force them to glow
Give depth to the heavens
and purpose to our woe
Sing out, sweet poet!
Fill the sky with your song
Sing til your voice runs dry,
then we'll all sing along
and when in blissful slumber we lie,
pray for us all,
by and by
Sing out, sweet poet!
We need you more than you can know
Let your words rain down
lifting up our battered souls
Fill our spirits with dreams
and never let us go!
I beg of you,
sing out,
sweet poet.
Sing out!

Wow, this was awesome! The repetition really helped the flow, and I loved the structure of this poem. There were a few grammatical mistakes (such as "hero's" which should actually be "heroes"), but I felt that your style and word choice made up for these. Thanks for entering!

You're right about the grammatical things, I should have caught that but sometimes I get too involved in the poem and thngs like that slip by me. But thank you for your kind words!
