To Be A Woman

To be a woman is a gift,
a true privilege,
an honor,
blessing.

The miracle of a woman
is simply her presence,
and the dignity she commands
for her value
to all of us.

A woman is the origin
of all our dreams and goals

our beginning...

of what life has to offer
if we truely want it,
because of her

only...

A woman is our salvation,
the seed leading to our growth,
because of her desire
for the same.

The Lord created women
for His own sake,
and for ours,
for her own conception of

morality...

for all of us...

A woman has a degree of beauty
beyond our capacity to comprehend,
for this is the mystery
of her attainment,
and purpose

ours...

Women are selfless,
committed to those
other than themselves,
for this is their intent

giving...

to all...

Author notes

These words come from my heart. I have always felt this way.I am honored by your presence, ladies..I salute you all

John

    Lovely

As a woman, this pleases me. As a real feminist, I say I'd rather be an equal than something more or less.

    Nice emotions

The emotions expressed in this piece for women is very nice and seem to be from heart, to be a woman has its own advantages and disadvantages but in general women are more committed than man who most take pleasure in oggling girls apart from his own wife or girlfriend, it really hurts a woman but since, this truth can't be changed we accept men of those habits, a bit of compromise for society, for bringing up the next generation :-)

Where I appreciate the respect and admiration given us through your well-written tribute, I feel it's equally important to remind all that a woman who gives to all must also give to herself first, or the gifts she has to offer have no substance. That being said, I commend you and your pen in this verse. It's beautiful and sincerely put. Very lovely pen

    A man of inner depth

What a beautiful tribute! I don't know that being a woman is "an honor" or "blessing", but it certainly requires a certain responsibility to understand and react to the inner depths of a man. This poem is an expression of a man with great inner depth and understanding, and a vision that is pure in many respects. I feel honored to read this poem, and I find a most warm and inspiring place within it. My deepest thanks, John, for taking the time to write this.

Hey your thoughts bout women are really very amazing if not gratifying and rather demand introspection on the part of any woma who reads them .This is because she must prove herself worthy of the pedestal on which you have placed women. Thanks for sharing ,please take care...

    Wise-Wonderful-Profound-Unique...

To read a poem of this magnificence at 06:00 A.M. is indeed a privilege.

"Poet" is a feminine word, and so is Poetry.

Poet is a female word... Mother Poet allows men to use the title too!

Whoever dictated the masculine superiority did hide their inferiority under the skirt of religion. Those were the ones that pretended to ignore the history of mankind; or were so indifferent and mindless that never reached a level of intelligence to show gratitude for all the greatness that the female human being has proved throughout the history of MANKIND; for the pages of history will certify that no man was able to surpass the female supremacy.

"To Be A Woman" sings to gratitude and to respect in poetic wonders. A true Paean in tribute to the Sublime Daughter of Mother Poet.

Much gratitude to the author of "To Be A Woman" for this long due homage to the Tributee.

    Healthy happy day.

    In respect and admiration,

    Andre Emmanuel Bendavi ben-YEHU

Sorry for the short comment. I didn't know this poem meant that much to you. Ah, I appreciate this poem, being a woman. I have to disagree that not all woman are selfless. Some woman abort their babies throw them in garbage cans, and etc. Some however are selfless. I hope this poem is a salut to them. I myself am also published. Congrats on being published.

    Thank you and Bless you!

What an honor to read these words on a day when I feel like my worth is dwindling. I find myself giving and not getting any returns lately. I am indeed a selfless person. I am happiest when I help others. Just yesterday I found that my behavior is co-dependant, and I do not like that term. I will continue to give, nurture, help... That's just me and you have coined me well. Again, I THANK YOU!

Always with Love & Respect ♥

    What wonderful words to say...

Your poem is such a nice compliment to women. Glad you feel the way you do. After all roughly 50% of the world's population are females. I wish that both sexes have the same respect for one another that your charming freeverse relates. Nice words, worthy of framing.
