A Taste of Winter

Drops of ice fall onto my window sill.
I sit patiently as the snow and ice fall and it begins to fill.
I stare into the outside world, noticing the leaves are all dead.
There is no life left in the nature, the leaves are far past red.
The cold falls quickly covering up what was left behind.
Like the dead leaves, my past memories are being erased in time.
For the world is icy and frozen now.
There will be no turning back to how it was before.
The sun shining reflecting off my face.
The grass the greenest it could be without leaving a trace.
All of that is now over.
It is time for the cold despair to reach my path.
As I get a taste of winter, there's no turning back.
