If It Lives

Before opening eyes
to divides, limits,
words dripping life-gains

Blood spoke joy,
smiled links of love
uncorrupted,
moved limbs up
to darkness in
walls of flesh

Light at the end
of the tunnel, eyes
waiting, world eager
to drag it through
drainpipes of
invented cultures
killed innocence
ere it took birth

Great take on the prompt! Best wishes in this contest. The imagery through drainpipes is very vivid indeed. We all must travel somewhere...
