My Beloved Sandy

The day began weak,
Struggling to stand,
Meows of fear,
Ending with eternal peace.

Sixteen years ago,
You entered this world.
A protector, a follower, a pal.
You fought your battle proud.

Sandy, we were with you until the end.
Pain shall no longer conquer.
As you rest now,
Guide and protect those you love.

A burial you received,
A stone etched with your name,
Flowers laid aside, as rocks mark the spot.
Eternal love lasting forever.

I love you, Sandy.
Memories come to mind with smiles,
Yet tears roll down the cheek,
Understanding that your body has left this world.

Now a spirit of the world,
Come and shine.
Share your glory in the sun.
I will always love you forever and ever.

With eternal and glorious love,
I bow my head.

    As you know Kalen, cats and dogs both go to Heaven as well. I realize as we get older, our bodies just don't hold up to what life gives us. And so our spirit leaves our body. Not so good for those who miss them, yet always, they return to a better place. I too have gotten close to some cats at where I work caregiving, and taken many pictures of them.
    Hang in there, and know you have friends in life and spirit who are there for you. ~Bud~

    Dearest Kalen, I'm so sorry you lost Sandy, sixteen years Sandy had a good life with you, Kris and family and has now left to live in heaven and to watch over all of you.
    Remember the good times together. I have missed you too my dear friend, very much.
    I hope to hear more from you.
    Your poem is very beautiful Kalen, a fitting tribute to Sandy.

    I'm so sorry to hear of Sandy's passing but your tribute is loving and very beautiful. My Mutton died last summer and it hurt my heart. I understand these words and feel the emotions you've written from the core of your heart.

    All My Love & Condolences! I miss you too and hope that you and your twin are well. Please give one another a hug for me. I am not around these parts as much as I used to be. I am back in school fulltime.
