As I Like It

Though Shakespeare was a man of words
I’m really not impressed,
I’d rather break free from the herds
and set out on a quest
to fly high, free among the birds,
on wings that have been blessed,
become unique, sing songs absurd,
be cuckoo in a nest!

    Cuckoo egging on or nesting
    far from madding crowd protesting
    inequali-tease ? Digesting
far from common herd, flight testing,
wing soars - more, for sharing best sing

Very well written short poem. You say a lot in these few short lines. Very wise!

    Free Dom...me

Who freedom praise raise though their dreams
    more indeed of challenge met,
or they'd prefer to fast forget,
than quest successful, for it seems
birds that fly high from the outset
use that to spy on prey or get
    escape from predators that teem
below. The common heard sees gleam
    too often as upsetting threat
dares not believe in blessèd team
though pays lip-service to light's beams
