To my dear Ashlie,
You are but seventeen.
Time is travelling quickly,
Passing at high speeds.
Soon you will be twenty,
Then off into the years
You'll go.
But in my heart,
You'll always be,
That seventeen year old I know.
Time is like a freight train,
Rambling down the line.
One minute it is morning,
And then the next it's five past nine.
Oh the years go quickly!
But! It's okay.
For in my heart,
I know it's true,
Young, you will stay.
Never mind these years,
Quick, as they go,
I will still be standing there,
Wary you may show.
For dear Ashlie,
You are only seventeen!
So many more years
Are yet to be had,
And dreams are yet to be dreamed.

HOORAY!!! I must admit the first couple of lines depressed me. I wanna stay 17 forever!! The big 2-0 is still a frightening thought. Thank you Sam I am! The best birthday present ever!!
You'll always be,
That seventeen year old I know.
