Serenity.
Endless moments lost in the sun,
Blades of grass tickling our palms.
The scent of something heavy in the air –
Not far, not close, irrevocably there.
Light and shadow, like a dance
Resplendent in their contrast
Feeling a little bit of both inside.
Sounds, lazy in the back of our minds
Entranced, we cannot sever from each other.
Yet in the distance, the sounds grow louder
The dark gaining on the light
The breeze of wind, that before tickled kindly
Turns into a vile creature of the skies
Blazing with the revenge of so many unfulfilled wishes
Minutes trickle faster;
Time becomes our enemy –
Twisting and twirling, smashing and coiling –
Inevitably towards the end of brightness
And all that was warm will suddenly be cold.

I really love these lines
"The scent of something heavy in the air –
Not far, not close, irrevocably there.
Light and shadow, like a dance
Resplendent in their contrast
Feeling a little bit of both inside."
Wow so much intensity! Great work!
Keep writing!

I liked this very much, the first stanza top draw, the second just as good, is it the 'calm before the storm' and then the storm, thats the way I read it.
Very skillful.
Regards.
