Asked of me was a question
Answers are limitless as the sky
I write poems, journals, stories
The question was, "Why?"
"Why do you write?"
Why do I write?!
In it I found release
I like to rhyme
But wherefore I write
My start was a simple push
I had to make a Haiku
Since, into poetry I've rushed
Stories are also part of my repertoire
Stories about my past, my life
Blessed expression, a short reprieve
Maybe I can let go of this strife
The old family drama repeats
The old grudges have new reasons
Words put to paper clear my head
My mind clears in its season
But the main reason I write
Is hard to explain
There's this desperate urge for words
Threatening to drive me insane
If I don't put them down
If I leave them unwritten
I can't think with clarity
My thoughts come unbidden
I write to keep my thoughts in order
I write to keep my feelings in check
I write to keep a grip on reality
I write to keep my sanity

I write for many of those reasons you just mentioned. Writing really lets you get out what you need to say, especially when things aren't going so well or even when they are. Thanks so much for your entry, I liked it a lot.
