Some spend their Labour Day lying on a beach,
Others take their tents up to the top of Bear's Breech.
This year I have different plans that I didn't even make,
My boss has called me in today, there must be some mistake!
Even though there is other places I would rather be,
My boss thought it would be great to torture me.
So instead of building sandcastles or lying in the sun,
I'm stuck in an office chair getting someone else's work done.
Author notes
I really did spend my Labor Day of 2009 working. I didn't mind as much as this poem portrays mind you.
Also, you may have noticed I spelled it "Labour," well that is because I'm from Canada, eh?

Thanks for the feedback! It definately made for an interesting Labour Day. It was a really fun poem to write. I didn't struggle on it much, and it came out pretty quickly.
