The stars danced playfully,
In the green and purple sky,
They twirled, turned, and mingled together,
Feeling the effects, my mouth has gone dry.
The trees with leaves of red,
And the ocean with waves of pink,
Chest is tight and heart beating fast,
I still could use a drink.
Time is of no essence,
As I stop to stare at my hand,
As we think about what we've done,
And realize none of this was planned.
My reality is once again a blur,
As I'm destined to a far out place,
I try to focus and to think,
As I see the waves of bass.
The sounds are crystal clear,
The world twists and turns,
Nothing is making sense,
Still my world churns.
A walk in nature is a treat,
A tall bonfire would be better,
The sensitivity of my skin,
Tells me I need a sweater.
Come on down and march with me,
As we take another splash of LSD,
No matter what your government says,
There is only one way to be free.
Author notes
This poem is written about the effects of acid (LSD). I used the song Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds as inspiration.
