Why I went to work today
Is the same reason I went yesterday;
For if I didn't go to work today
I wouldn't have been given my pay.
If I would have called in sick
My boss would call me a prick,
I would get fired really quick
And that wouldn't be very slick.
I would like to book a holiday
And travel somewhere far away,
But my boss said it isn't OK
So I slapped him and called him gay.
My job isn't always fun
But I'm glad when it is done;
Because I can go in the sun
And take my dog for a run.
Today I was told I can't come back
Because I was caught smoking crack,
Maybe I'll try running track
Or find somewhere else I can slack.
Author notes
When I wrote this poem, I certainly didn't want to be at work. I also wanted to write something with a little bit of humour to cheer myself up.
