I don’t think you get this
        the thing between you & me

When you plunge that knife
            deep into your chest
              it’s buried in mine

Miles away I still feel you
                right next to me
        like a ghost watching over me

Every dream you’re in
    every thought you consume
      a constant in my life

Even now you’ve seeped into my ink
          so you can stain my paper
        all triggered by your pain
              the tight coil
                wrapped around my sternum

I didn’t realize love is like this
          sharing the good & bad
            like it was one
I don’t think you realized either

It’s all worth it though
        every tear spent
        every moment in your arms
        even the late hours on the phone

I walked into this blind
            and I found you

I think I found myself too
