coleslaw

why does one dream of only the most impossible
she murmurs
and rises from the bed like a fallen phoenix

any moment she could fall back
into the dream that is always vaulted
in the locker too loaded
to be opened

the cinderella dream
of the perfect prince
dining with the not-so-perfect woman

heavy with too many adjectives;

in a restaurant
where she would shout
when he nods for ribs full stack
with coleslaw

how many times should i tell you to order something i know of?

and he'll whisper with a smile
you don't know

I love the softness of this even though there is a bit of a harsh undertone to it's meaning. What I don't love is your author notes, I have to wonder about that...
oh, well, is not my place I guess...

Thank you for entering and good luck

that is exactly why I said, " Oh well, is not my place I guess" I would never judge on author notes
