California State Of Mind

down by the river
and into the sun
those places where my soul feels free.
Lost in the sounds
I look on in awe
this is my new reality.

The walks down the street
to breathe nature in
and plenty of conversation.
Who would have thought
that this would all rise
from seeking future education.

Love and respect
and a feeling of strength
an endless body of knowledge.
The music still plays
with friends all around
an interesting thing we call college.
We'll ride in the car
down that old dirt back road
playing our music so loud.
Having some laughs
and making some plans
never have I felt so proud.
I've walked through my hell
to ascendt to this place
and I'm finally climbing the mountain
As I walk down those steps
as  glide through the breeze
but I make a quick stop at the fountain.

A sight to behold
a beauty divine
a place that I now call my home.
I just love the sights
and the sunds all around
and in aimless directions I roam.

I still see new things
I've not seen before
so what lie behind the veeiled curtain.
All that I know
I have come here prepared
although trials in my life are uncertain.

A stroll through the grass
a walk through the village
and time spent down at the station.
Releasing my soul
for the whole world to hear
with a reason to find dedication.
