Stretching joints on fire
Hypnotized and in a trance
Heart racing with desire.

Devoid of any fears
Extending out my hand
Ignoring all my tears
Drowning in quicksand.

Miles and time divide
Obstacles in the way
No distance is too wide
To keep my love at bay.

Longing for my love
To be in his arms again
Pleading with the stars above
To give me my best friend.

    Beautifully put and well written. I like the last line 'to give me my best friend'. A lovely poem. I'm glad I got the chance to read it!
