I'm On Stage

When I get on the stage,
I can be anyone I want.
I can have a life I never had,
dream dreams I've never dreamt.

I can show the world my soul,
without letting anyone really see,
who I am,
Only the character I portray.

In essence,
I show myself,
and yet,
I'm someone else.

That is what I am,
when in the spotlight,
but only
when I'm On Stage.
