Supply is her job;
Her duty and obligation.
Only a small part
But still needed all the same.
She readies herself;
To cross the borders
And make Iraq her mission.
6 months in the sand,
Secluded from loved ones;
No comfort
Or arms to hold her close.
She is a soldier; an airman,
Protecting the young and old.
Fighting to remain free;
To keep our country safe.
What did you think

...
my cousin is one who delievers supplies. Her first time in iraq they were on their way to drop off supplies and their car was hit. It knocked her unconsious. luckily though no one was killed.. So this is true. without these people the others would run out of what they need.
thanks for entering.good luck -
oh a very honest and heart felt poem : )
"a small part / but still needed" so true
"No comfort
Or arms to hold her close.
She is a soldier; an airman,"
i saw the preview lines and i realized that i could learn a lot about who you are and how you feel based on this poem; a lot of your attitudes towards the army and about respect and such are clearly embedded in this very well written free verse : ) great work!
