What do you see
when you look at me
Do you see a ballerina
or just a tree
I live to dance
in my forest of green
I don my best foliage
and spread my leaves
I dance to the rhythm
played by the breeze
For it lifts my spirits
to the top of the trees
I dream of Broadway
and the stars so bright
To dance up on stage
beneath a dazzle of lights
My name on the billing
or on the marquee

My first thought was Intriguing Title! Liked the poem too! Interesting comparison, a dancer with a tree. Reminds me of a dryad.. Lovely write!

This was right up my alley (or yonder...near the foothills in the valley...lol). I loved the energy and sense of hope and movement; the flashes of color; the images of future-fame. And all of this from 'a tree'? Hmmm...what do any of us see when we look at 'we'?
