Welcome home

With one last
mortal breath

and the-first-
breathless sigh

-we-  sigh..t
e t e r n i t y.

Far and close
heaven recites

a soothing call
a familiar home

resounding-thru-
the midst of death

gently comforting
tenderly assuring;

My child
Day is done

Come home
Come home

With one last
mortal breath

the -first-
breathless sigh

heaven up-lifts

us in their alms

and- feasts-

tears of joy.

Contest prompt: write one of your favorite inspirations

I chose the music of the Celtic Women:
they pull upon my heritage and ease my soul when I am troubled
or need up-lifting to pass thru whatever clouds dim my soul or day.

Song:  You raise me up

I wrote this poem dedicated to my husbands brother who rose to heavenly heights
last Thursday and was buried today...his death was very un-expected.
Thankyou my brother-in-law
for the laughter and understanding you gifted to us all.

In honor of the very Reverend Father Gabriel Cooke

Life is a path we walk and is glorified by the way and who we share it with. God never waits, but knows we shall be received, our doubts only our need to knock upon the door to be sure He answers.

You have created a beautiful paean. It sings in the breath of the reader and dances in the cells of the heart as it touches the soul. Well done.

    Love,
    Tom B.

    Touching

a fitting end for weary souls that have
labored in the fight for peace love and
righteousness. so many people struggle in
this life for others. Not thinking about themselves.
So when its their time to rest we pray eternity
welcomes them in the arms of a loving spirit
    where trouble and heartache cease.

    Beautiful

I could tell from the first line that you were writing this from the heart. Rarely do I ever see works like these. Amazing job all in all. I love the feel of how you made death not a grim scenario, but just the beginning of a grander scheme. Beautifully written.

    Lovely.

This reminds me of my friend Trey who had suffered for years and a man that died from burns. Both went through a lot before their deaths. I know this will comfort those who are losing their battles with disease. The only thing is I think you meant he died unexpectedly rather than buried. But still this is a comforting thought to those who mourn.
