In the light of the pale jewel moon
As the clock ticks, midnight is soon
Her shoulders heave with cries of no sound
As the world falls down
Her fooled heart beats so fast
As she remembers sweet moments past
Crystal tears stain the old white gown
As the world falls down
It would make no sense to you
As the pain sweeps her through
You left her in her hurt to drown
As the world falls down
A promise to place the moon in her heart
As you sing the song, you abruptly depart
And the memories within her whirl around
As the world falls down
The ring hangs heavy and weighs on her hand
As she twists the forsaken wedding band
And she weeps as her belly grows large and round
As the world falls down
And you, Jareth, can only stand by
As time stands for you, for her it will fly
Though you will not age, to time she is bound
As the world falls down
In the light of the pale jewel moon
As the clock ticks, morning is soon
You take Sarah's hand, let her feel your heart pound
As the world falls down
And whisking her off to the Labyrinth's gate
As she slowly rouses to a waking state
You whisper, "Its time for you to become unbound
Come to my world, let yours fall down."
Author notes
Inspired by "As The World Falls Down" by David Bowie...this was originally written for me but lately I've been listening to the Labyrinth soundtrack. The whole ending kind of broke my heart so I just had to write this to ease my heart.
