Don't Turn Away

We've come to this dark place before
stood this path a million times
the hurtful memories hateful words
they scar are hearts and minds

A partnership is all we want
but we scream it out in vain
telling each other we don't care
but we are so much the same

To be told that we aren't enough
Is what we feel inside,
so we prove it to ourselves
again our wills collide.

I'll make him prove he loves me
So I'll test the lines he draws

By withdrawing from it all

We should be on the same side
fighting towards the same sweet goal
Not pushing each others limits
Demanding to have control

What happened to the eyes of love
That deeply looked in mine
The feeling that together we could
beat the storms of time

I'm tired of those lines we've drawn
between us in the sand

Through the fire and the rain
the laughter and the tears
