It's terrible, but I'll admit the truth-
So far remiss I've been...
Without the hint of excuse.
You see, I have this little fan.
It's helped me through all sorts of things.
From when the summer first began
Guilt fills me now, remembering.
It kept me cool, and even-tempered
When I was feeling homicidal
My worries all were quick assured
Yet, still I have been idle.
For the cheery breezes of optimism
I have it, alone to thank.
Filled full with care and altruism
Even when the poems stank.
So thank you, dear friend;
You've always been so kind.
Good wishes on their way I send..
