I am just a leaf, and so my friend are you
No matter our beliefs, there's no denying this is true
The wind blows us here, or maybe over there
A gust or two's the difference
Between's what's unjust and what is fair
Our belief in control is our illusion
The blanket 'neath we hide
Yet the wind can blow so fiercely
It can strip that blanket aside
To reveal to us the truth
that we are only leaves, whose anchors now have thinned
Enough to cast us from our branches
And leave our collective fates upon the wind.
Please tell me what you think

This is very well-written and also very true. It's easy to let the breezes of life push us to where they want us to go.
