When those days were sweet

Yesterday was a stormy day, bleak.
The raindrops piled on top of each other and made me a cage that I just couldn't get out of.

So I sat there
          [seeing no other solution]
and I watched as other girls ran to mommies and I wished that I'd done that back when I had the chance.

But I was too late.

She was broken, burned black
baked like her own white sugar cookies
And I stood there without knowing what to do next because I didn't know what was expected of me.

This was unknown ground. I was lost
The rain was washing me away like a chalk outline on a sidewalk.

And soon there was nothing

Author notes

She was broken, burned black
Baked like her own white sugar cookies

Aw, this is a sad piece. I have felt like this before. And it sucks. Short but not lacking in emotions at all. Well done and thanks for entering.
