trust in me
i'll hold you up
way above my head
and feed you grapes
tousle your hair
wash your yellow
submarine
and whisper lovely
descriptions of
the swaying flowers
when we are old
and your eyesight
is just not what
it used to be.
i'll keep your secrets
and knit you stockings
compose personal lullabies
to match the tempo
of your eyelashes fluttering
and your breathing as you
drift off to sleep.
i will wipe your runny nose
when you are unwell,
kiss your forehead until
your fever subsides
and when you are sad
i will hold and keep
you together until
you are smiling again
and when you are full
of joy,
i will commit it to memory
and remind you of it
someday when we are old
in rocking chairs
watching the sky
change colors
on an oaky
front porch.

wow this is such a beautiful poem. i like how you showed your feeling with imagery instead of just telling us how you feel. fantastic job. keep up the great work and i look forward to reading more of your poetry in the future.
