The time’s arrived when bright collages
Drape the wooded hill
Even birds seem unaccustomed
To the newness of the chill
The day is damp, the leaves are wet
And grey was spawned of blue
The air is heavy with a lonely
Sentiment or two
The breeze cannot erase the smell
Of forest wet with tears
Nor can a fireplace console
These cold impending fears
So I throw myself to autumn
Let the rain consume my skin
Let droplets pelt my waiting tongue
And cleanse me deep within
I’m a child of the woodland
I’m a lover of the wild
Only rainy autumn moments
Can console this lonely child

My favorite stanza: "The breeze cannot erase the smell
Of forest wet with tears
Nor can a fireplace console
These cold impending fears"
The entire write is beautiful and the rhyme impeccable. Thank you for entering the contest. -

Love it
This flows well, almost as if written in couplets. Very effective. Good luck.
