    Bonus round

Yay! A bonus track! Seems the little Leptons are living the life now----off to the midway, the bob of the carousel keeping them in rhythm, holding hands again and giggling their way to the next ride, the "rounds and rounds" and "ups and downs" are sweet and whimsical here. No doubt our happy subjects will find themselves in the lepton tunnel-of-love as an added bonus. Only you could make leptons "giggle". Bravo! and bravo again! All leptons stand! Encore!

thanks, but I just 'improved' the 'bonus track'- I couldn't follow it while evaluating it in the car- it was a jumbled mess! So I added guiding cymbals throughout to help the listener 'organize' the piece...

bobbing on a carousel, I really never noticed that aspect... interesting... and giggling to the next ride... holding hands, even... and wouldn't one of the leptons drag the other into the tunnel of love...! A lepton giggle, I'll have to find one... (and not easy, I've just been searching for a soundbyte... no luck...)

The cymbals make it sound like the leptons are marching. I still hear the carousel in the swaying "up, down" rhythm throughout, but especially in the beginning. I also still hear "giggles" throughout the music. Maybe it' s my imagination, but the giggles are there. I guess I rode some strange carousels too. Well, you never know exactly what a listener will find in your music, as long as we don't find lepton-eaters in the soup overture or the bonus, you're good!

    Perfect for the Lepton Ball

Magnificent! I could feel the little leptons half-spinning through the beginning. The harpsichord in the middle was absolutely hopping, they held hands and skipped along---then the "gulping" feel at the end was a grand finish. What have you done? Now leptons have hands, and dance together. They swirl in ballet eddies in the soup mix and beckon us to gulp the fun. This was so much more than I expected from a spec. Perhaps your not really a spec at all. Don't worry, your secret identity is safe with me, maestro. I just want to dance this dance at the Lepton Ball!

What? No GPO? Back to work! Haha, just kidding. But I do like this piece. Of all things...I like the beginning. Just playing around with that tone...nice.

hey, you're right- I didn't select the Garritan voices... well, these DID sound better that they did in Notepad... lol

here's the piece with Garritan voices... it's weak because I didn't compose to take full advantage of these particular voices... Searching for Lepton Soup- Garritan Voices

you sure did- and a practiced ear you have!

I copied the score into a Garritan orchestra and it was weak (but it had some good parts)... so i'll have to start from scratch and create a new piece with the Garritan voices...

Garritan only has one staff for 'choir' and not soprano/alto/tenor/bass, so that was a problem, too (I copied the soprano into the choir staff, since it carried the melody, sounded nice...)

I think I was using the GPO voices... I'm not sure- maybe there's an extra step... or maybe "the music is in our heads" and I bent them to sound like Notepad voices, being used to that... I don't know... and I know, I'm supposed to sound like a Garritan Show Piece... lol well, I DID pick up right where I left off a few years ago, if you remember that patchwork piece... (my last original composition of any significance)... this one was getting familiar with each voice- I created a basic orchestra, with the usual winds, brass, strings, and percussion, and I began with one note on the piano... and, as any composition is, it was simply a series of decisions after that based on one's experience, skills, and taste... it will take a while for me to create fully orchestrated allegro passages again- one has to begin where one is (which is out of practice for me! ) and not get ahead of oneself ambition-wise... I know enough to not try and reach for too much too soon...
