This is my charge to women in love,
Hold onto him steadfast.
For the next time you say, "good-bye," might well be your last.
He's likely to fly like an unfettered dove.
From a well-spring of experience I do quote,
So take precious heed to my little note.
One cannot serve two masters,
Especially God and man.
The attempts are destined for disaster.
How desperately I seek my place within the grand plan,
But now here I stand,
With empty, outstretched hands.
Joyfully I paid the costly price,
Present regret now my greatest vice.
So I'll sit at his wedding smiling and alone,
Feeling the sting as I loose my love....
