Angels Must Move On

So very sorry to see you go,

but angels do have to move on.

I'm just glad you were able to

stop by my life,

so even though you must go,

remember me as you go get

your Georgia groove on.

Behind you leave your mark

and many truly sincere friends,

ones that will feel a deep void.

But as angels must, go and embrace

others in the heart, for you have

work to do that is sanctioned

by our dear Lord.

I'm so blessed that I was allowed

to breath in your magnificent spirit,

and thus be guided by your brilliant light.

What you leave behind is much more

than mere memories,

The collage of accomplishments will

stand as a beckon as what happens

when you live and love right.

Tenacious you are, so things really

got, but never because you had

a need to stand out in a crowd.

You wore your halo of love, hope

and compassion,

so how could those you touched

be anything but proud.

You crossed my path and now I

can hail you as my dear friend

and be comforted as you depart to

know, no matter where, on you I can

really depend.

thank you for leaving such a legacy of

angelic strand, that will serve to

sustain all in your absence.

Tears stain my eyes and there's

 a tightening in my heart,

but even as they threaten to fall,

I know that as one of many,

I, too was graced to have

been in your presence!

What a beautiful poem and tribute. What a grand soul she must be to inspire such a poem. Knowing the quality and depth of your soul as I do (as much as is possible on this little website), I'm sure she feels the same way about you.

Fare thee well is much easier for me. Goodbye seems so finale, except in the case of true friendship. This way, you can make a visit to Georgia, say... once a year.

A friend once told me that "angels" come into our lives for a season and when their jobs are done, they must go to see after the next angel they too encounter. I am more than sure you were angelic in their life as well. I know these feelings and you express them from your core.

God is smiling on you for the generosity of your heart. Be happy dear sister and send me a postcard when you make that visit.

    Much Love ♥

    Deeply Moving

There are few things in this life as sad as saying goodby to someone who you've been blessed to know, who has touched your life in innumerable ways, as this person you are having to let go. My heart goes out to you, my sweet friend, knowing the kind of pain you feel at losing someone who has been there for you, in good times and bad, thick and thin, to hell, and back. And while there are really no words that will completely ease the pain, I can assure you that the Lord will bring a new person into your life; not replace the one now gone...for people can never be replaced. But He will fill that void, and ache in your heart and soul, with a new kindred spirit. He's done it on more than one occassion, for me. This was a beautiful, and touching poem, Joyce, showing, once again, your incredible talent and ability to pull your reader into the emotion that inspired you to write. Beautiful work, my friend!
