Office Blues.

He doesn’t take no for an answer;
Thinks he’s God’s gift to women,
All that soft soap talk; that smile
Of niceness, but then he comes in
For the kill and chats you up;
Gets his hands on your butt
When no one else is looking,
Whispers smut; gets some thrill
In watching you squirm, and to cap
It all he walks away with the shrug
Of shoulders and raised eyebrows,
If you don’t respond
Like some dumb blonde.

You know you should report him,
But you don’t want the hassle,
Don’t want the grief of the looks
And whispers and cold shoulders;
Just your life as it was before
The creep came along with his oily
Ways and smooth tongue and all too
Free hands; and yet, being
The boss’s son kind of gives
Him that extra reach, that licence
To misbehave with girls he wants
Amongst the many, thinks he can
Have whom he likes without loving any.

    Wow

    What a situation, that you put wonderfully into words. So many ladies go through stuff like this in the work place. Kudos to you for sharing this and the awareness through your words. I am sorry to anyone who has to go through something like this be there done that.

    The poem has nice flow throughout my favorite lines are,

    and to cap
    It all he walks away with the shrug
    Of shoulders and raised eyebrows,
    If you don’t respond
    Like some dumb blonde.

    This is so true and not fair to the victim. Wonderfully done!! keep them coming.

      Thank you, Mystic-Fire.

      Women have had this problem for years I understand. My mother who is now 88 once said she had this problem way back in the 1940s...
