feeling misplaced
my head a pudgy, fudge-filled, sludge
of mangled, jangled wrangling
imagination as corpulent
as any water-filled balloon
senses sheathed in
fragile, colored-glass enclosures
of useless mirth
stomach a flight
of fluttering butterflies
seeking flowered caramel cream petals
squirming from bed with a shuttered sigh
striding my less-than-slender frame
through my bathroom door
my audience 'pon throne pending
fumbling sun and his enigmatic way
of reminding me of Monday
hung over; questioning myself...
just who was that girl in the red dress?

Can't say i've ever had a hangover. Good use of the word bank. Never would have used corpulent to describe a water balloon. This was a wonderful write. The imagery is lovely and it even made me chuckle alittle. Great job and good luck in this contest!

Clever usage of the word bank you used. Do we ever learn from hangovers? You captured those tormenting mornings with the greatest of ease. Excellent. Blessings.
