The sands of time are rarely whimsical, it's said;
The hourglass of ages showing all that's left ahead.
Days can seem like years, and a century a day-
But whether slow or quick, they still refuse to stay.
You can beg, and you can plead; it matters not at all
For, ignoring all your cries, the sand will always fall.

wow...I blame it on the brownies. And no, not those brownies - they're pretty good about leaving me alone. But what else is there to do when eagerly awaiting a finished batch of brownies than write poetry?
