Legs feel pain with every step up.
Can't breathe; the air is so thin.
Move slowly ahead, breathing hard, feeling pain.
Reach the top, 14,000 plus feet.
A great sense of exhilaration fills my heart and soul.
I feel the pride of accomplishment.
I look around 360 degrees at a beautiful panorama of peaks and valley.
I'm in awe of the mountains, glaciers and valley below.
But next to me is someone...
Someone I LOVE who brought me here,
to this place,
to share this experience.
How could I not put my arms around her?
Does it get any better?
I'm reminded of a similar experience with my Dad, climbing Longs Peak together.
Two shared experiences I will NEVER forget.
