So pleased to make your acquaintance, dear sir. And such a kind and friendly gesture you have made in your desire to become more familiar with those who share this writer’s arena. You will find that this lady is relatively new to these surroundings, having only entered into this particular fellowship in June of the current year. My experience in the crafting of words with paper and pen is also short in term. Just this recent April did I first attempt to form my words into poetic lines.
In spite of my short tenure here, I believe you may enjoy the variety you would find upon my page. For though my writing years have been short, my years of life cover a much greater expanse of time and living. My heart has burst forth with expressions of deep emotion set in free verse and then often moves to simple stories told in rhyme. The style and form morphs, from one piece to another, as my muse moves without boundaries of learned convention. Technical terms of literary form are newly being added to my vocabulary, so please be patient, kind sir, with any lack in my understanding.
Thus concluding my brief introduction, I commend myself and my writings to your review. In return, I will mostly certainly set aside time to browse through the fare you have to offer. Should we find we share tastes in common, a friendship will easily develop of its own accord. If not, then we shall part our ways having lost nothing for the sampling.

A nice invitation. This has a stately formal feel to it with the hospitality of a kind person.

Open-hearted, no pressure
This feels like an open-hearted letter of introduction with a wish for more to come. I really liked the last line, "if not, then we shall part our ways having lost nothing for the sampling". It gives a friendly feel of a "no pressure" invitation to share thoughts. I would answer "yes" to this invitation! Good luck in the contest.
