That old porch chair were papa set was tattered
and so worn, he would shave small sticks for each of us,
it was my favorite toy.
We'd wash our self's in an old wash tub filled with
fresh rain water,He'd laugh as I shivered it was always
so cold, and yet to him it never bothered.
I remember him picking me up and rushing me in
so we would'nt be late for breakfast again and he'd wink
at me when our plates were set, once again we made it.
Mo-mo would have such a feast eggs, fried apples,
biscuit's, and gravy, oh how I loved to hear her say grace
as we sit at their big table.
That old pot belly stove where coffee would brew
and warm water for the dishes, were she would stand to
clean each and every morn, and she would hum amazing
grace.
And that old feather bed were we slept, was so
soft we just sunk in it, with a head board made of brass
and momo's hand made quilts upon it.
There's so many things I could tell to the very day
I lost them, And on grand parents day, To the heaven's
I pray that they know that I still
Love them.
