When you look at me you see a shell
A place where my spirit dwell
Below the surface are the driving forces
That helps me make my daily choices
My mind, my spirit, and my soul
Are all ingredients that make me whole
Look even closer and tell me what you see,
A young lady of beauty, morals and class
A young girls dream through a looking glass
A being that is spiritually uplifted
A soul of one who is divinely gifted
I am one that can not be detained
While learning to accept the sunshine with the rain
Realizing that life is full of struggles and hardships,
Holding to my faith with a tighter grip
Visualizing an ocean splashing against the shore
Others try to define me but constantly they learn more…
I am complex; I am gentle, kind and caring,
When I mangle with others I leave them staring
Sometimes I am quiet don’t ask me why
Soft and gentle like a lullaby
I can’t explain it so you don’t even try
You try to explain from which I came.
Remember Annie is only my given name….
Please tell me what you think

Overall a really nice poem.
Good job on the end rhymes, good description, sensory language. I really understood the point to the story. I almost feel like I am looking out from your perspective, kind of like I personally know you. I really like your ending when you said, remember annie is only my given name...
Well done, I hope to see more poetry from you,
good luck with future poetry to come( -
Fitting title to the work. I got what I bargained for when I clicked on the link. I don't know how to actually give you advice or revision on how you'd define yourself, though.
