the Emu’s Visit

Missing image

I came home one afternoon to find an emu at my door
I looked at him, he looked at me, I wasn’t really sure
He stamped a foot and said to me without a God damned care
I’m looking for my lady friend, have you seen her anywhere

I shook my head and he just huffed and looked about the place
This emu must be mad I thought from the look upon his face
I did not dare to make a move for his legs were mighty strong
To have one up my human ass was not where it belonged

He sighed a sigh and nodded as he strolled down to the gate
He turned as he was leaving and he shouted, hey there mate
If you should see her passing, you just holler that she’s found
Cause if you don’t I’ll come right back and kick your shithouse down.

lol!!!!!!!!!! That's funny. I am glad you liked this one. Emu's can be very funny animals, especially when they are trying to sneak a sandwhich or whatever out of your hand.

I had that picture sent in an email and it really is very funny. Your poem does the picture proud. When I joined Allpoetry I read some of your poems and made a note of your name but have only just found it again so I'm a happy bunny !!

I was laughing from the picture to the very last word. This is hilarious, and the rhyme and rhythm carried the poem along without a hitch, something that is rare to find in humorous poetry.

    Absolutely funny!

This one is a short-tempered emu. Excellent piece - like one of the Walt Disney's character. Thouroughly enjoyed it.

"Blue Stuff" is a pain relieving cream that is fairly popular here in the states and the main ingredient is Emu oil. Take care and Have fun.

Thanks, mate. I am so glad you liked this one. Yep, five minutes. Must have really been in the mood for this littli'n. I once painted a picture of a possum in under ten, but I couldn't do it all the time....seems the mood has to be there. Thanks for stopping by.
