I went to the mountain
while in las vegas
only 91.95 off season
And hoped to see you
in the flat terrain
Your image shimmering
off the dessert floor
but you did not appear
With your tiny ears
with the little gold
earrings that day at work
That tightened in my
mind so much
I had to run out at break
to try to breathe
my brain
jarred and frozen
But six years after
thinking you would
blow in, you haven’t
So I’ve taken advantage
of the sale
and pressed on to arizona
