Dear Grandfather
I remember all those times,
When I'd come to you for tea.
When I'd listen to your war stories,
As I sat upon your knee.
I remember those times,
When you told some funny jokes.
I also remember
How much you smoked.
I remember all you've told me,
How you and my grandmother met.
You told me you'd always love her,
Even after death.
You've showed me all your medals,
That you were given in the army.
I never remember you shouting or being mean,
Or ever causing a barney.
So Grandfather,
I wrote this letter to say,
You are my rolemodel,
And I love you more and more each day.

Author notes
Well, as you may have guessed, this letter is to my rolemodel - my grandfather.
I saw all those people doing letter contests and most of them were full so I decided just to write a letter to my Grandfather using poetic format.
Hope you liked
P.S. My Grandfather is still alive, just incase you thought he'd died.
What did you think?

I enjoyed this poem, and hope that you share it with him. I really also like lines 8 and 9, because it brings a certain level of reality to this man. Obviously he's not perfect, and you're not so blind as to believe that.
Keep up the good work!
