You'll never know

The stars didn't shine,
the river didn't flow.
It rained all night
and it didn't even show.
Up in the sky,
the clouds didn't roar.
It was silent death
and nothing more.

The wings were clipped,
and feathers were sold.
It didn't even hurt
when you left me cold.
The dreams didn't sail,
the music didn't play.
All that mattered was
to do things your way.

Everything was transient,
and I never did care
about a million people,
it's you at whom I'd stare.
And you did shine,
your words did flow,
I cried all night,
but you'll never know.

Good job poet. I like the repeat of the first four lines in the end. It kind of wrapped it up in a nice little way. Rhyming was sketchy but over-all, very nicely written(:

when all fails i try to pick the a line that sums up the meaning of the poem as the title. but that aside it's a great poem.
