A snowflake falls
as autumn days ebb
leaves have perished
and blown away
apples are picked
the fairs are done
seasons are changing
the cold has come.
Hearths are warm
as stories are told
chill winds blow
against frosted windows
days are short
while darkness is long
autumn is settling
ready for sleep
the year is dwindling
winter now creeps.
