Escape

You reek of lacklustre cravings
hunting down bodies,
base emissions guide you
down dark alleys,
pulling me too

You never know my designs
that defeat your intents,
what I need beyond immersions,
purgation of senses, hunger
for more of what exists not

I see it coming, feel it
passing through my cells,
newly formed feathery desires,
grab it while I can and let it
slip through shaky fingers

I embrace the vanishing
fragrance and look back at
you, me, and the life I left
for inner peace, forked lust
that licks me clean

    "passing thorugh my cells,"

    Dear Poet,

So pleased you joined my contest:"Lust," with your submission, "Escape."

    "what I need beyond immersions,
    purgation of senses, hunger
for more of what exists not"

i don't know a lot of people, poets included that would experientially grasp
what you have spoken in the above stanza. I do and of course Tantra Yoga does
    as well.

    The ending is painfully perfect.

I like to point out possible hiccups in the event you'd like to correct them, as i do.

in the top line, did you mean "through?" If so, i'd appreciate your editing and when
complete im with title and contest:"Lust."

I am placing your poem into the finalists, regardless; however, it would be
more polished if corrected, if not intentional.

    wishing you the best
    till then
