hush, I am dreaming
alone in my castle
wait till the sun comes
to wake me to life
painted my secrets
in nail gloss of colors
memories ancient in eyes
looking backward
hush, I am dreaming
now do not disturb me
tiptoe away from this picture
of private
stencil your soul
with this knowledge
of knowing:
life's tender tendrils
hold power of love

Thank you so much for the Gold ...
in your very endearing contest. What a word artist you are with visuals! Now I too can give you a MG (MyraGold)
... You captured an entire lifetime of dreams and of seclusion in this little one ... I simply loved the gaze and the body language here: to me it says: Do not disburb ... I am in my own little world.
It is indeed not so easy to portray layered emotions in a photo, and you have done it brilliantly. Please show us more of your photogenic efforts!
I love the work of Bigmammajen on AP too. I do not know if you know her? She has such an eye for fun photography, and also rustiness within fresh nature.
All the best for the future, in both poetry and photography. Let me know when you have your own studio, if I am still around!
Love to you, Anneliese.

private what?
painted nails and pained trails; would that adulthood stays over the hill and along the next rise.

Of all the things we portray with our poetry it is the people we encounter that matter the most.
In this poem, you are looking at a girl in the present but remembering a girl from the past. Remembering when there was time to daydream girlish dreams.
Thank you for packaging such tender thoughts with such care.
Kind regards, Peter
