Platonic affair:
two cups Earl Grey, one lipsticked;
tea left unfinished.
To metamorphose
into origami swans--
slacks, her cotton dress.
With matched underslept
eyes and lips an inch apart,
they are still Virgin
to each other.
What does this mean to you?

welcome to all poetry
I love the title for this piece. I find almost a mental affair that they haven't taken physical. I like your word choices very much, love the ending lines.

Thank you! And yes--I wanted it to be a mental/spiritual affair rather than a physical one. I'm glad that comes across.

This is very intriguing the way the poet wrote this out...Nicely written and you are true, affairs are for squares!
