i didnt believe in love
i felt what what people say
it never happens
its not ever true
it always ends in the worst kind of way
but it does happen:

it actually happens to me;

you know that one guy...
the one you see
and you just know
he is so amazing
he must already have a girl
he is too good, too sweet, too amazing
to damn fine as all hell
sends my head into a whirl

i'll never get to know him
he'll never touch me
or caress me
or kiss me...
no way he sees me

wouldn't ya know the moment
i finally truly give up on love
on the idea of dreams
he asks me to be his girl
and suddenly nothing is what it seems

the next day im super nervous
convinced he's not gonna show
it was a mistake for him to ask me
he's regretting it...i just know

but then there he is... smiling
reaching to hug me
keeping his arm around my shoulder...

just when you think dreams
really dont come true
you realize Cinderella was right...
